COINCIDENCE?

+ Christians are expecting a coming Messiah.

The Bible tells us to expect a coming Messiah. The Kingdom of God will be established on this planet: "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this." Isaiah 9:6&7

Christians agree that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, but we have differing ideas regarding His second coming. His first coming was at birth, the "child in a manager" that is celebrated at Christmas. He came as a Divine Being in a flesh-and-blood human body. His life and ministry, sacrificial death on a cross, resurrection and ascension have special meanings.

Jesus is expected to “rapture away” into the clouds His Church made up of true believers. Three different interpretations of scripture have this happening before, during, or at the end of a 7-year Tribulation. One voice crying out from a multitude of contradictory opinions, Tennessee Elijah, believes the "dead in Christ" were taken, and the "great and dreadful day of the Lord" started, at midnight on March 19, 2006. In his opinion, "Believers who are alive and remain will be caught up to join the others before the end of this generation.

+ Jews are expecting a coming Messiah.

The Jewish belief in a Messiah predates traditional Christianity and Islam. Their "Messiah" is not the "Jesus" known to professing Christians. They doubt that Messianic prophecies were fulfilled by Him, such as ushering in world peace. Jews agree with Christians that under the leadership of the Messiah, a descendant of King David, their nation will flourish. Jewish people expect the "first-coming" Messiah, a conquering King, to restore Israel to national greatness.

+ Muslims are expecting a coming Messiah.

Muslims take most of their Islam beliefs from the Qu’ran rather than the Torah or the Bible. These believers in the prophet Muhammad have deep respect for the prophesied Messiah "Imam Mahdi." Similar to what Christ is reported to have done, this Muslim versions of a "Messiah" is believed to have ascended into heaven. He went up from a rock on top of what Jews and Christians believe is Mount Moriah in Jerusalem. His purpose was to receive special instructions from God.

Islam -- with over one billion believers -- has been increasingly publicized in recent years because of connections to terrorism. Most nations are currently becoming aware of the Islamic belief in a coming Messiah ever since the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad let his expectations of "apocalyptic" events become a part of his discourse. His petitions to Allah have provided a glimpse into certain principles undergirding the Muslim faith.

Islam, as with Judaism and Christianity, has variations and differences regarding the prophesied Imam Mahdi and Messiah. The term "Mahdi" is interpreted to mean “the Guided One.” He is believed to have descended from the prophet Muhammad’s family -- from Ishmael, of the Old Testament. He is expected to appear suddenly at the time of the end when the world will be filled with injustice and tyranny.

Muslims are expecting various signs pointing to his coming such as a great earthquake and green grass growing in deserts. Receiving knowledge directly from Allah, the Mahdi will rule over Muslims for seven years, spreading brotherhood, equity and devotion among Muslims. Islamists believe that their Messiah will bring justice to Earth when uniting Arabs and other people under Islam.

Regardless of conflicting belief systems, Tennessee Elijah expects a coming "political hero" to be accepted as a "conquering king" -- a "prince of peace" -- and a "Messiah" who will deceive most people. He will be the prophesied "beast" of Revelation -- the one known as the "Antichrist" -- the one who will claim to be "God." -- and the one who will ultimately be defeated by the "armies of Heaven" and cast into the "bottomless pit."

During storms and wars bringing unequaled devastation as a result of clashes between good and evil, the "false Messiah" will be ruling over the entire world. How many deceived people who are now professing to be Christians, Jews, and Muslims will be bowing down to this coming monster Messiah? As in many questions we humans are asking, the answer is: "Only God knows!"

In the neighborhood where I live, I recently went to Burger King to read a newspaper and sip a cup of coffee. I had no sooner sat down at my usual corner table when I had an "urge" to leave and go to McDonald's just a short distance away -- a place I seldom go.

Well, I followed my "instinctive" desire to change locations, bought another cup of coffee, and within a few minutes an old friend that I hadn't seen in over twenty years entered. A few minutes later after he had found a table in a different section, I went to where he was sitting, asking, "Are you Don Hunt?"

We had both grown older, me showing my age more than him. He didn't remember my name. After a brief conversation, he went to a new black Lincoln in the parking lot to get two books, and then brought them back, giving them to me as a gift. "Pathway To the Heart of God" was written by Don, and "Prison to Praise" was written by Merlin Carothers. During the Easter weekend, I read his book and started on the other one.

Yesterday, Tuesday, April 18, 2006, I had the "urge" to go to Walmart -- a place I go once or twice a week. When I pulled my old white Oldsmobile into my usual parking spot, I saw a new black Lincoln. The thought of "Don" crossed my mind, and after a few minutes of shopping, I saw my old friend. I approached him, saying, "Either the Good Guy or the bad guy must be trying to get us together. This is a real coincidence running into you again."

Even though we have exchanged contact information, and Don expressed an interest in visiting my web site, any future "encounters" will be determined by him, God or Satan. I have no plans to get back in touch at this time.

While we were talking at Walmart, I did suggest that he repackage his book -- emphasizing the "STP" formula which means "Surrender, Trust, and Praise." If he marketed his "STP" Christian message to race car drivers, mechanics, and racing fans, it might become a huge success. Creative graphic cover art with racing theme photographs and endorsements could lead to sales of a million or more -- in my opinion!

Maybe God wanted Don to get this idea from me? Maybe I needed to read his book to expand my understanding of Christianity? Maybe there will be something good happening in the future for the Kingdom of God because of our encounter?

Regardless of this particular "coincidence" in my personal life, this is an example of how both God and Satan work in the lives of all people. Some "encounters" in Life can ultimately lead us closer to Christ or further away from Christ! Obviously, if we remain diligent in our desire to serve our Master, we will not be tempted to serve selfish, worldly interests.

WOMAN AT THE MALL: "If you love Jesus, and want people to repent of sin so they'll go to Heaven instead of Hell, you must be a Christian. Where do you go to church?"

JIGROP WITNESS: "I attend several good churches in our community. I like visiting different places just to see how other Christians worship. During this past year, I had fellowship with Methodists, Presbyterians, Baptists, Catholics, Pentecostals -- just to name a few. No matter which church Christians choose, we need to keep in mind that the real 'Church' of God is the one the Bible speaks of as the Body of Christ."

( WOMAN AT THE MALL is thinking as she listens: "This person with the 'JIGROP' shirt seems sincere, and doesn't have selfish or competitive motives?" )

WOMAN AT THE MALL: "I'm running late for a lunch appointment, but thanks for the explanation. The next time I see 'JIGROP' on a shirt, I'll know what it means. Maybe I need to read the Bible and start going to church?"

JIGROP WITNESS: "Good idea! Glad we could talk. Have a nice day!"

( WOMAN AT THE MALL walks away after putting the witnessing card into her purse. She will probably remember kindness shown by a Christian stranger. )

The JIGROP WITNESS turns to see a man approaching with a smile and hears him ask, "What's the meaning of that word on your shirt?"

World News Review

When the dividing line separates light from darkness and sheep from goats, you will know why a day to be remembered was necessary. When you witness deaf ears and blind eyes like a wall between good and bad souls, you will understand what was impossible to understand before evil was isolated from righteousness. It is for the sake of innocent souls that heavenly angels are sent to rebuke the guilty. It will not be Satan who brings a message of hope in eight more days, but it will be the Holy Spirit who gives doubters a reason to believe in Jesus.

Will obedient Christians help us avoid a tragic coincidence?

These serious words written in December 2005 need to be copied and shared – internationally! Every person claiming to be a Christian should reach out across the nations with one unified goal in mind: use the "JIGROP" word to witness! This final instruction from God must be obeyed to inspire revival and avoid further disasters. If "Christians" are willing to serve this Holy Purpose, the wrath of God will not be seen in places where demons live. Do we understand why it is better for thirsty people to drink the meaning of "John 3:16" than to drink water? Do we understand why it is better to bring lost souls into the Kingdom than to feed them with food when storms destroy homes? Questions asked by strangers in public places when they see the "JIGROP" word can be answered by Christians in a loving way. They can be told in all languages and dialects, "Jesus is God, repent or perish!" No other one-word message is more powerful or relevant in these days leading to Armageddon. Do not be deceived by those who believe their ways are better than God's ways. He is testing our faith, separating wheat from chaff, wanting sheep to be divided from goats, and looking for reasons to bless His obedient children. My sense of urgency about every moment of time from this day through 2007 can be summed up in one word: JIGROP! Every person on our planet needs to be challenged with this message: Jesus is God -- repent or perish!
